Washington, D.C. – Congressman Josh Brecheen has voted in favor of a conservative National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that includes amendments aimed at countering what he describes as the Biden Administration’s social engineering experiment on military personnel, which he claims has resulted in record low recruitment.
The bill features an amendment introduced by Brecheen that would prohibit drag shows and drag queen story hours on military bases. Speaking on the House floor, Brecheen stated, “Our country depends on a lethal military capable of rising to any occasion, just as the Allied forces did 80 years ago when they stormed the beaches of Normandy. Unfortunately, the Biden Administration is more focused on promoting drag queens waving the rainbow flag in a cultural war instead of preparing a real fighting force advancing the red, white, and blue on a battlefield. Today, House Republicans are standing up for our men and women in uniform and getting liberal politics out of our military.”
Other notable provisions included in the NDAA are:
- A prohibition against the Secretary of Defense paying for or reimbursing travel for abortions (Rep. Van Duyne).
- A ban on TRICARE and the Department of Defense covering gender transition surgeries (Rep. Rosendale).
- A prohibition on providing gender transition procedures through the Family Medical Program (Rep. Norman).
- The elimination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion offices and personnel within the Department of Defense and Armed Forces (Rep. Norman).
- A ban on promoting Critical Race Theory and associated race-based theories (Rep. Luna).
- A prohibition against purchasing materials that are pornographic or promote radical gender ideology by the Department of Defense Education Activity (Rep. Stuebe).
- Restrictions on funds being used to rebuild Gaza or fly Palestinian refugees into the U.S. (Rep. Mast; Rep. Arrington).
- A prohibition against mask mandates for COVID-19 on U.S. military installations (Rep. Ogles).
