Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma has expressed relief following the Department of Energy's decision to exclude the proposed Delta-Plains Electric Transmission Corridor in Oklahoma from its plans. The announcement signifies a positive outcome for local landowners who were concerned about federal eminent domain implications.

"My team and I have been in contact with the Department of Energy and received the welcome news that the threat of federal eminent domain to Oklahoma landowners is gone," Lankford stated. He further criticized the Biden Administration, claiming it has historically opposed Oklahoma landowners, but acknowledged that recent efforts to counter these policies have succeeded. "This is a huge win for Oklahoma landowners," he added.

The Department of Energy clarified that designating an area as a National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor does not immediately lead to transmission construction or eminent domain actions, nor does it affect existing land use.
