Congressman Josh Brecheen, along with Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) and Congressman Richard Hudson (R-NC), has signed a letter addressed to U.S. Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth. The letter demands explanations following reports that anti-terrorism training at Ft. Liberty, North Carolina, depicted pro-life Americans as terrorists.

The training slides reportedly identified National Right to Life, Operation Rescue, and individuals opposing the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade as members of terrorist groups.

"The Biden-Harris Administration continues to politicize our military and weaponize the federal government against millions of Americans simply because they correctly believe that life begins at conception," stated Congressman Brecheen. "We are demanding answers from the Army about how this despicable smearing of millions of pro-Life Americans could have possibly happened and want a commitment in writing that this will never happen again."

Excerpts from the letter emphasize public expectations for the Department of Defense to defend against actual terrorists rather than targeting Americans advocating for unborn children’s protection. The letter also highlights concerns over recruitment challenges linked to perceived attacks on servicemembers' values.

The briefings were reportedly presented as recently as July 10th. It remains unclear how long these materials have been used or if similar briefings occurred at other installations. A statement from Ft. Liberty indicated that these slides were not vetted by appropriate authorities.

While Ft. Liberty asserted that the slides "do not reflect the views of the ... U.S. Army or the Department of Defense," there is ongoing concern among the American public regarding such training dissemination and its potential use across other military installations.
