Congresswoman Stephanie Bice has cast her vote in favor of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025. This legislative move comes as a response to recent modifications made to Title IX by the Biden Administration, which Congresswoman Bice argues have compromised women's safety in sports.
The changes in question involve adjustments that allow transgender women, who are biological males, to compete alongside biological women. According to Bice, these alterations create an environment that could be both dangerous and unfair for female athletes due to inherent biological differences.
The new legislation aims to safeguard the integrity of women's sports by prohibiting males from participating in school athletic programs designated for women.
In a statement following her vote, Congresswoman Bice remarked: “Title IX was a significant milestone for women nationwide, enabling them to participate in competitive physical activities without concerns for their safety. If we want women's sports to continue to be a safe environment that is pivotal in the development of young women, then ignoring the biological differences between men and women is not an option. I will always fight for women's right to safety and protection.”
