U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin joined NBC's Kristen Welker on "Meet the Press" on Sunday to discuss the Trump administration's approach to national and international issues, contrasting it with the policies of the Biden administration.
During the interview, Mullin criticized the Biden administration's handling of security threats. "We have terrorist organizations coming after the United States everywhere because the Biden administration has done nothing for four years," he expressed. Specifically, Mullin highlighted the Trump administration's actions against the Houthis, stating, "There was no war plans that 'The Atlantic' put out. What they did was have a very successful attack against the Houthis, who's a terrorist organization, that's been harassing our Navy since 2023."
Mullin also addressed President Trump’s stance on Russia and the conflict in Ukraine. He described Trump's intentions as aimed at stopping the conflict, stating, "What President Trump is trying to do is negotiate an end to the deal of individuals dying in Ukraine." He warned of possible tougher measures against Russia, indicating Trump's readiness to act if Russian actions continue.
In terms of trade, Mullin conveyed Trump's emphasis on equitable economics, particularly with Canada. "What President Trump is saying is that enough is enough. If you’re gonna have a relationship with the United States, it’s gonna be an even playing field, a two-way street," he said.
