Oklahoma Christian Ultimate went 7-0 over the weekend, to take home the championship and the $1,000 cash prize at the Dust Bowl in Tulsa.
 
The Eagles opened the weekend by defeating Illinois State, in a tough match against a team with a lot of top-end talent. But the Eagles' depth wore them down, as OC set the tone in game one of the outscoring of opponents in the second half. The game was tight at halftime with OC holding a 7-5 advantage, but the Eagles pulled away in the second half, winning the match 10-6.
 
Loui-Ying and Thomas Preston led OC with 2 goals each, and Preston also added 2 Ds. Sammy Roberts had 4 of his 28 assists on the weekend and led the Eagles in +/- at 4 as well.
 
Oklahoma Christian followed that match by beating the Oklahoma Apes of Wrath 12-5, and the Texas A&M Dozen Matter, 13-1. Roberts had 6 assists against the Apes, and Elijah Johnson had a strong game against Texas A&M on defense.
 
A matchup against the Kansas University HorrorZontals is where the weekend started to pick up. The HorrorZontals were keeping pace with the Eagles at a score of 4-3, before a decision to switch to a zone defense allowed OC to run away with the win, 13-6.
 
Evan Card had a big game against the HorrorZontals with 4 goals, Roberts added 5 assists, and Aaron Smith had 4 Ds to go along with a team-high +/- of 8.
 
Going 4-0 on Saturday meant that OC received a bye round, allowing them to scout their next opponent, in-conference rivals, Missouri S&T.
 
In the first half against Missouri S&T, the Miner Threat had an opportunity before halftime to cut the lead down to 1 at 7-6, but the S&T player dropped it in the endzone, giving OC a 7-5 lead at the break. The second half was all Eagles, and they cruised to an 11-6 victory.
 
Multiple players had 2 goals, Mason Kelly had 3 assists, and Kevin van Roosmalen added 2 Ds.
 
The biggest matchup of the weekend came against the University of Missouri, who got the best of the Eagles in November in Columbia.
 
OC started out hot against the Tigers, but Mizzou climbed back to take a 7-6 lead into halftime. Knowing that with time running out, the Eagles would have to score the next two points to win the game. They did just that by scoring out of the halftime break to make it 7-7. With the game tied, the two teams got into a crazy back-and-forth game that ended with Ryan Loui-Ying getting a block near the endzone, followed by some smooth endzone offense and Ryan Loui-Ying catching the game-winning goal.
 
Card and Preston each had two goals against the Tigers, Roberts dished out three more assists, and Loui-Ying added two Ds.
 
Oklahoma Christian secured the Dust Bowl championship by defeating the University of Arkansas, 12-9. The score was much closer than the actual game with the Eagles taking a 7-3 advantage into halftime. The Ludicrous Speed attempted to claw back, but it was too little too late, and the Eagles held on to win the championship match.
 
Loui-Yin led OC with 4 goals, Roberts wrapped up his great with 6 more assists, and Emanuel Kameri had 2 Ds.

Oklahoma Christian will have a couple of weeks off before traveling to Austin, Texas, to compete on March 18th and 19th.
