U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin appeared on Fox News’ "Hannity" to discuss recent developments with Houthi strikes, criticize the current administration's foreign policy, and comment on the successes attributed to former President Trump's administration. He focused on what he perceives as a shortfall of the Democratic Party in handling international adversaries.
Addressing the Houthi strikes, Mullin stated, “It’s very rare that you see a group of powerful people like the President has around him in his cabinet, and people that are advising him, to have an open conversation. They have disagreements, but they work it out. They come up with a conclusion in a very short period of time, and they decide to literally deliver lethal strikes to the Houthis, to who which President Biden and his administration just sat on their hands.” He pointed out the Biden administration's inaction despite numerous attacks from the Houthis.
Mullin also highlighted a perception of hypocrisy within the Democratic Party: “Keep in mind the NBC and CBS polling that you just referred to has the Democrat party’s favorabilities in the 20s.” He argued that Democrats overly focus on Republicans while ignoring their own failings.
He further criticized the current administration’s approach to adversaries, suggesting a lack of assertive action: “This current administration is… bringing back peace through strength. They’re going after our adversaries in an aggressive way. They’re taking the fight straight to them, where the Biden administration tried to appease them.”
Mullin continued by reflecting on President Trump's achievements, claiming a significant reduction in illegal border crossings and the respect earned internationally: “What President Trump is trying to do is restore law and order in our streets and abroad, and he’s doing that aggressively in a faster pace than what we’ve seen.”
He concluded with praise for Trump’s track record, contrasting it with perceived Democratic narratives: “President Trump doesn’t just speak false words of trying to be tough. He delivers on his promises."
