Today, Congresswoman Stephanie Bice voted in favor of H.R. 1968, known as the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act. This measure is designed to fund the federal government until September 30, 2025, effectively preventing a potential government shutdown. The legislation includes provisions to support troops, veterans, and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents.

The continuing resolution (CR) provides additional funding for veterans' healthcare and benefits. It also ensures pay raises for junior enlisted servicemembers and increases funding for air traffic control priorities. Additionally, it offers flexibility to the Department of Defense to address current priorities and respond to emerging threats.

Congresswoman Bice emphasized that contrary to some reports, "the legislation does not cut toxic exposure funds for veterans or eliminate COPS grants or WIC funding."

In her statement regarding the bill's passage, Congresswoman Bice said: “While I would have preferred to negotiate new appropriations bills rather than a CR, a shutdown would be an unnecessary distraction that would hamper the abilities of Congress and the Trump Administration. This bill will freeze spending levels and help support the administration as they work to secure the border, safeguard our nation, and root out waste and fraud. The Senate should immediately take up this legislation so we can avoid the harmful effects of a government shutdown.”
