Dylan Burrows/Men's Track and Field | Oklahoma Christian University
Dylan Burrows earned a trip to Virginia Beach with his school-record time in the Men's 800 Meters.
Burrows' time of 1:49.26 was good for fifth in the nation as he headed to Virginia for a chance at the national championship.
Representing Oklahoma Christian, Burrows made the finals with a strong performance yesterday, making the top eight cut.
Under normal circumstances, the finals qualifiers would be All-Americans, but a collision in heat two yesterday advanced two extra runners to the final race.
Needing to beat just two runners to become an All-American, Burrows did more than that by taking 5th place with a time of 1:50.07.
By making the top eight, Dylan Burrows became the 10th NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field All-American in school history.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH MILLER
Dylan had a rough start to the race but kept his composure by staying relaxed. He did a great job moving up through the field and passing five guys in the final 400m. He has worked very hard for this opportunity and gained valuable experience that he can apply in future races.
