Oklahoma City University swept the team and individual titles in the Las Vegas Shootout on Tuesday at Boulder City Golf Course.

In a competition with three other ranked teams, OCU ranked No. 2 in NAIA women's golf, took the top spot by nine shots over No. 14 Ottawa-Arizona. Paige Wood of the Stars claimed the individual win.

The Stars notched the victory in Josh Gorzney's debut as OCU coach.

"We were a little rusty coming off of a long winter away from competitive golf," Gorzney said. "The girls hung in there and definitely have some positives to take into the next weeks of practice. I am proud of Paige Wood for getting the individual victory in this tournament for the second year in a row."

Wood, a sophomore broadcast journalism major from McKinney, Texas, picked up her third career win. Wood shot 76-73–149, good for 5 over par. Overall, Wood had seven birdies and one eagle with five birdies in the second round. Wood birdied two and made par on two of the final four holes to take over the lead.

Maddi Kamas tied for third at 8-over-par 79-73–152. Kamas, a sophomore accounting major from Kingfisher, Okla., sank one birdie overall and had just two bogeys. Kamas made par on all of the back nine holes. Natalie Gough finished in sixth place with a 72-81–153. Gough, a Bixby, Okla., native pursuing a master's in business administration, finished with seven birdies.

Logan Allen, Jamie Welsh and Makayla Tyrrell round out the Stars' top 10. Allen finished in seventh carding a 76-78–154 as she putted in five birdies. Welsh and Tyrrell finished tied for 10th at 11 over. Welsh (80-75–155) hit two birdies in the back nine and shot five under compared to her first round. Tyrrell (78-77–155) hit four birdies overall.

Blaine Bruton birdied two holes, finishing with an 84-76–160. Meghan Charles finished in 25th with three birdies and a 77-84–161.

Rounding out OCU's efforts were Aubrey House (87-86–173) and Carrie Bowers (92-95–187).

OCU takes to the course again on March 6-7 in the Southern Nazarene Invitational at the Lincoln Park East Course in Oklahoma City.
