Oklahoma Christian split its home-opening doubleheader against St. Edward's at Tom Heath Field.

Game 1 - OC 6, SEU 8

The first inning started with a single, but the runner was erased by Whitney Walde, who threw the runner out on an attempted steal. Walde caught three runners during the doubleheader and two during the first game.

The Eagles got out of the top half of the inning and went to work offensively. Brooklin Bain, in her first at-bat of the season, reached on a hit-by-pitch and scored the first run at Tom Heath Field on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Aaliyah Brown connected on her first of two 2 RBI doubles, bringing home Hannah Pate and Walde. Chloe Woodward capped the inning with an RBI single that scored Kate Paulsen, who pinch-ran for Brown.

OC took a 4-0 lead into the top of the 2nd, where St. Edward's got on the board with an RBI single to make it a 4-1 ball game.

A single and a walk gave Brown another RBI opportunity, and she delivered the second of her 2 RBI doubles, giving OC a 6-1 lead after two.

St. Edward's scored seven unanswered throughout the rest of the game to win 8-6.

Game 2 - OC 4, SEU 1

Oklahoma Christian jumped out to another lead in the bottom of the first inning. This time it was Hannah Pate, with an RBI single, who brought home Bain, who again was hit by a pitch to open the bottom of the first.

St. Edward's tied it up on a lead-off, solo home run in the top of the second. Jill Dickson didn't let that affect her and settled in to pick up two of nine strikeouts, to shut down the Hilltoppers' offense.

Kelsey Gammage gave OC a lead again in the bottom of the second with an RBI single that would be the game-winning run.

Dickson faced just three batters in the third and stuck out three Hilltoppers in the 4th to continue adding to her tally.

The bottom of the 4th saw the Eagles add two more runs, one on a Kristen Whitehouse RBI single and one on a Chloe Woodward RBI double, giving Oklahoma Christian a 4-1 lead.

The 4-1 lead was more than enough as Dickson and the Eagles cruised to win game two. Dickson got the win with her 3rd complete game, bringing her record to 4-0 on the season.

Top Performances (doubleheader combined stats)

Brooklin Bain: 2-4, 3 runs, 3 HBP
