The Lady Eagles wrapped up their final road trip of the season, with a season-high in points, in a battle to the final seconds at St. Edward's.
In the first quarter, St. Edward's took a 14-5 lead in the first four minutes of game time, but the Lady Eagles and Jordan Francisco fought back with a 9-1 run. Francisco scored 7 of her team-high 18 points to cut the lead to 15-14. Nakia Cullom made a pair of free throws to tie the game at 18 before a couple of Hilltopper free throws gave them a 20-18 lead going into the second quarter.
The second quarter went back-and-forth with four lead changes and three ties, before SEU went on a short run to take a 47-39 lead into halftime. Cullom led OC with 6 points in the quarter, and Kia White and Kate Bradley each added 5 points.
Quarter three saw the Hilltoppers try to hold off the Lady Eagles, as St. Edward's held a 5 to a 9-point lead for the quarter. While the Hilltoppers held the lead, the Eagles won the quarter, 17-16, as the Eagles continued to stay within striking distance. Cullom added 6 more points in the quarter, and White chipped in 4 points.
The Hilltoppers stretched the lead in the 4th quarter to 70-60 with 6:31 remaining in the game, but the Eagles came storming back. Coming off the back of the 19-point comeback win on Thursday, the Lady Eagles quickly erased the 10-point lead with an 8-0 run. The run came as OC turned up the pressure, generating two steals leading to fast break buckets.
After the run, the score was 70-68 but St. Edward's went on a mini run to take a 76-70 lead with 2:20 remaining. That didn't last though, because Francisco made a layup off a Bradley assist, and Trinity Dobbs forced a steal, and scored to cut it to 76-74 with 1:27 remaining. Down the stretch, the Hilltoppers knocked down free throws to hold on to win 80-76.
Foul trouble limited Oklahoma Christian down the stretch as they had three players foul out with a foul count of 35-20 in favor of the Hilltoppers.
