Oklahoma City University named Coby Mackin as assistant athletics director for internal affairs.
In her role with OCU, Mackin will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day business affairs of the department, facility management, competition operations and assigned staff.
Mackin arrives at Oklahoma City with more than 20 years of experience in athletic administration, business management and coaching.

Mackin most recently served in the business office at Bayside Academy in Daphne, Ala., where she had also been the associate athletics director. She owned and operated a facility for training athletes, The Fieldhouse.

Mackin coached softball at South Alabama and Spring Hill (Ala.). At Spring Hill, she became director of athletics in addition to her head-coaching duties. Mackin was the first coach of the Spring Hill softball program.
Mackin is nationally recognized for developing elite pitchers during her 15 years of collegiate coaching experience. As the Spring Hill head coach, she took Gulf Coast Athletic Conference coach of the year honors and Spring Hill was ranked in the Top 25 poll for 10 consecutive years. As a head coach, Mackin led Spring Hill to a 309-159-3 record with 15 all-Americans, 28 all-region players and 56 all-conference players.
During her collegiate playing career, Mackin was a four-year letter winner and was a member of four squads that advanced to the NAIA Championships at the University of Mobile (Ala.). She became a three-time NAIA scholar-athlete and first-team all-American in 1996. After graduation, Mackin spent one season playing professionally in the Women's Professional Fastpitch Association.
Mackin, a Houston native, graduated from Mobile with a bachelor's degree in communication and Spanish in 1996. She is married to Lee Mackin and has two children (Marlee and Luke).
