Oklahoma City University Stars dismantle Panhandle State

Oklahoma City defeated Panhandle State 6-2 on Tuesday to end their road games. The Stars move to 10-2-4, 5-1-2 on the season with one match remaining.

OCU got off to a quick start with a goal just before the 3rd minute by Madi Caputo with Madison McEwin assisting. Caputo became the recipient of the Stars last four goals with her second of the game in the 11th minute. Ashley Russell was credited with the assist on that goal. Caputo's dominate offensive performance would not stop there as she would finish the night with an assist as well. OCU's third goal of the game came in the 24th minute by McLain Moss with Sofia Carvajal Granados receiving the assist. Carvajal Granados and McEwin now have assists in back-to-back games. The Aggies put an end to the Stars offensive attacks with a goal in the 44th minute.

The second half was much of the same as the Stars had a quick goal as Madison McEwin scored her first goal of the season 27 second into the half. Panhandle State would bounce back with a goal two minutes later. The Stars finished the half with two late goals in the 71 and 86th minutes. McLain Moss gathered her second goal of the game with Caputo receiving the assist. Then in the 86th minute Ciana Carlton nabbed her first goal of her sophomore year. Mille Templeman was credited with the assist.

The Stars had four different goal scorers and five different assisters on the night to go along with 28 shots and 11 on goal compared to the Aggies two shots. Caputo's two goals and assist brought her to a team lead 10 goals, 14 assists, and 34 points on the season. Moss' two goals brought her to four and the assist by Russell was her first of her freshman year.

The Stars have their final match on the season 5 p.m. Saturday at Brian Harvey Field against University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma for senior night.
