Coming off of their second-lowest team score in program history on day one, No. 6 Oklahoma Christian men's golf swept the tournament titles at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite held at the Amarillo Country Club.
The Eagles shot an overall score of 823 (283, 267, 273) which was 17-under in the tournament. The second-round score of 267 (-13) was the second-lowest score in program history. Thirteen under is the eighth lowest score in relation to par in program history, too.
To get to those marks, Oskari Nikku (70, 65, 69) and Exequiel Rodriguez (67, 67, 70) each shot 6-under with three-round totals of 204 to lead the team and the tournament in Amarillo. Nikku had seventeen birdies over his three rounds. The T1 placement is the first individual tournament win for Nikku and Rodriguez.
Santiago Villareal and Mateo Pulcini each finished T21 with a score of 211. Villareal had six birdies today, as well as an eagle, one of only twelve in the tournament, to shoot 6-under in his final round. Pulcini had five birdies today, and he also had one of the eagles in the tournament.
Alejandro Armijo (78, 67, 70) finished T38 with a total score of 215. He had eight birdies over his three rounds.
OC will be back on the road next week for the Bubba Barnett Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
