Dan Hampton born September 19, 1957, former NFL player
Dan Hampton was born on September 19, 1957. He played twelve seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears from 1979 to 1990. He was a key part of the Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team. Hampton played college football at the University of Arkansas, where he earned All-American honors and helped defeat Oklahoma in the 1978 Orange Bowl. He was selected in the first round of the 1979 NFL Draft. Known for his strength and consistency, he made four Pro Bowl appearances and was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 1980s. Hampton was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002. After retiring, he worked as a sports commentator and radio host. Though born in Arkansas, Hampton has maintained ties to Oklahoma through college football and regional appearances. His contributions to football continue to be recognized through media work and public events connected to the sport.
