U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma has expressed his support for South Dakota Republican Senator John Thune, who was recently chosen as the new Senate Majority Leader. In a statement, Mullin emphasized Thune's leadership capabilities and alignment with former President Donald Trump's agenda.
"Back in March, I announced my strong support for Senator John Thune as our next Majority Leader," stated Mullin. "He’s an experienced leader, a good friend, and just like President Trump, he’s ready to lead on Day One to advance the America First policy agenda. I’m confident that under the leadership of Donald Trump, Leader-elect Thune, and Speaker Johnson—Republicans will finally get America back on track."
President-elect Donald Trump also shared his thoughts via Truth Social: "Congratulations to Senator John Thune, the Newly Elected Senate Majority Leader. He moves quickly, and will do an outstanding job. I look forward to working with him."
