272 coaches at institutions in Oklahoma County earned $48,656 on average in 2022

Oklahoma County’s 272 coaches earned an average salary of $48,656 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the eighth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Oklahoma post-secondary schools during 2022.

Oklahoma County is home to six post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Central Oklahoma stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $73,711.

Male coaches of men's teams received $48,131 on average in Oklahoma County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $44,654.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
