Aubrey House and Jamie Welsh gave Oklahoma City University two individuals among the top 15 in the Southern Nazarene Invitational on Tuesday at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
House and Welsh finished atop the Stars leaderboard tied for 11th at 5 over par. Oklahoma City, ranked second in NAIA women's golf, took seventh place.
The Stars lineup of three freshmen and two sophomores posted a 311-299–610 competing against Henderson State (Ark.), ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division II, which finished in first place. The tournament also included Oklahoma Christian, ranked 18th in Division II.
House, a freshman cell & molecular biology major from McAlester, Okla., finished with a 75-72–147 nailing six total birdies. Welsh, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas, studying cell & molecular biology, supplied a 76-71–147 with eight birdies.
Meghan Charles finished with an 80-77–157 tied for 41st. Charles knocked in three birdies. Carrie Bowers and Blaine Bruton rounded out the Stars with scores of 82-79–161 and 80-83–163, respectively. Bowers chipped in four birdies, and Bruton had two.
