Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles' defense shines in Shawnee

The Lady Eagles wrapped up non-conference play with a matchup against Oklahoma Baptist on Bison Hill.
 
In the first half, the Eagles' defense stifled the Bison, holding them to just 36% shooting from the field. And in the second quarter, OC held OBU at 23% shooting (3-13), and just 12 points.
 
On the offensive end in the first half, OC was led by Daijah Torns, with 6 points, and Kia White, who had 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals in the half.
 
To open the third quarter, the Lady Eagles came out on fire, hitting their first five shots from the field. That run fueled a 25-point quarter to take a lead of 43-41 into the fourth quarter. Brooklin Bain led the Eagles in the quarter with 12 points and 6 rebounds, and the Eagles shot 71% as a team in the quarter.
 
The fourth quarter went to the Bison, as the Eagles battled and kept the lead down to 4 with three minutes to go, before OBU pulled away with free throws to win, 62-54.
 
Oklahoma Christian held Oklahoma Baptist, coming off of three consecutive games with 49% shooting or better to just 37% shooting from the field. And OC won the battle on the glass, 44-36.
 
The Lady Eagles will return to the Nest for the first time since Homecoming for Lone Star conference matchups on Thursday at 5:30, and Saturday at 1 p.m.
