Oklahoma Christian University Eagles soar high, defeat the Roadrunners 80-55

The eagles soared high and defeated the Roadrunners 80-55. Metropolitan State University of Denver entered the game with one goal in mind: play fast. This mindset quickly transitioned over to the Eagles, as both teams traveled up and down the floor.

Oklahoma Christian started out the game in front with a 9-3 run early in the ballgame. Led by Moun'Tae Edmundson, the Eagles never looked back as they would remain in the lead for the entirety of the ballgame. Edmundson finished with 17 points to go along with 13 rebounds in an excellent performance. Joining Edmundson, all other four starters for the Eagles ended up with double digit points. Antonio Gordon finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and delivered some highlight blocks to go with it. Karlyn Kenner put in 15 points, shooting 8 of 10 from the free throw line. Drew Tennial played fantastic, as he scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and put on a show with an athletic dunk and emphatic slam dunk. Nyk Madison chipped in a few buckets as well, ending the game with 14 points.

Compared to being defeated last year by Metropolitan State University at Denver, this game was a completely different story. Every point the Roadrunners looked to be closing in, OC's defense stepped up and forced a change of possession which led to some quick baskets for the Eagles.

The Eagles have now put in 80 points in two consecutive games with one being the exhibition against Sterling College. Tomorrow, the Eagles will look to continue their winning ways against the visiting Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets.
