The Mid-America Christian women's basketball program is proud to announce that it added a familiar face to the coaching staff as Brooke Brown will join the Evangels as the team's new Varsity Reserve Coach and Operations Assistant for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

Brown will officially assume the position on August 1 and will be entering her second coaching stint at MACU. Previously, Brown served as the team's Graduate Assistant Coach for three seasons (2016-19), helping lead the Evangels to a combined 72-33 (.685) overall record and assisting the program in winning back-to-back NCCAA Division I National Championships as well as two NCCAA Central Region Championships in that time frame. Brown will also be entering familiar territory as the Varsity Reserve team, a position she held during her tenure as the GA coach.

"I consider it a great privilege to be a part of the MACU Athletics program," said Brown. "This University is special and continues to change the lives of many people from all ages. I am excited and honored to have the chance to serve in any way possible."

During her first year with the program, the Evangels won their first-ever NCCAA Central Region Championship after wrapping up the season with a 23-13 record while defeating SAC rival Southwestern Christian 85-76 in the title tilt on March 11, 2017.

In the 2017-18 campaign, the Evangels reached new heights as MACU won its first NCCAA national title since moving up to the Division I level in 2007. Finishing the campaign with a 24-11 record, MACU put together a dominant run at the NCCAA National Championships in Winona Lake, Ind.

Following an 85-45 victory over Yellowstone Christian (Calif.) on March 14, 2018, the Evangels picked up two more double-digit wins with a 73-60 result against Emmanuel (Ga.) in the NCCAA Semifinal before topping Concordia-Ann Arbor (Mich.) 71-60 in the championship game on March 16.

MACU came back even stronger during the 2018-19 season. After wrapping up regular season play with a 20-9 mark, the Evangels fired on all cylinders during NCCAA postseason play. In the NCCAA Central Region Tournament, MACU dominated the competition by picking up a 96-54 win over Nebraska Christian and an 87-70 victory over Southwestern Christian to record the program's second NCCAA Division I Central Region Championship.

The Evangels' dominance carried over into the NCCAA National Championships as MACU opened with a 92-66 win over Yellowstone Christian and a 91-76 victory over the host institution Grace (Ind.) to advance to the championship game for the second straight year. This time, MACU had to overcome a tough challenge from Brewton-Parker (Ga.) as the Evangels had to rally from a double-digit deficit in the second half before pulling out a thrilling 87-84 victory.

After graduating from Mid-America Christian with her Master's of Arts in Leadership Development, Brown took over as the Assistant Coach at Redlands Community College during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

In her first year with the RCC, Brown helped mentor the Cougars to a 24-6 record as the team won the NJCAA Region II Championships. Despite needing to navigate through the COVID-19 stricken 2020-21 campaign, the Cougars once again claimed the Region II title, finishing the campaign with a 13-7 overall record.

Following her final year at Redlands, Brown stepped away from coaching for a year to become a teacher for Children's Day Out at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she coordinates activities and encourages physical, mental and spiritual growth for children who are infants to three years old.

In 2016, Brown earned her Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Randall University, where she competed for Coach Moeller. In her time competing for the Saints, she was voted by her peers as Best All-Around Student and was also awarded the institution's Champion of Culture while competing for the Saints.

Brown is married to MACU alum Mason Brown as the couple resides in Oklahoma City.
