Stephanie Bice, a U.S. Congress representative for Oklahoma’s 5th district since 2021, recently shared updates on legislative activities via her Twitter account. Bice, who succeeded Kendra Horn and has a background in the Oklahoma Senate from 2014 to 2020, is currently focused on advancing significant legislation known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
On July 2, 2025, Bice posted an update about a meeting at the White House with President Biden and fellow congressman Dusty Johnson. In her tweet, she mentioned leaving the White House after discussions regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill. She expressed optimism about progressing this bill forward: “Leaving the @WhiteHouse with my friend @RepDustyJohnson after meeting with @POTUS on the One Big Beautiful Bill. We are working to get this bill across the finish line!”
The following day, on July 3, Bice indicated that she would soon be voting on the same piece of legislation. Her tweet outlined key features of the bill which include extending major tax cuts, eliminating taxes on tips and overtime pay, funding border wall construction, and promoting American energy: “Soon I’ll be headed to the floor to vote on the One Big Beautiful Bill.”
Later that day, she further elaborated on H.R. 1’s benefits for American workers across various sectors including oil fields and service industries. She highlighted how this legislation aims to prevent significant tax increases for businesses while providing substantial support for individuals such as working mothers and those doing overtime work: “H.R. 1 is about delivering real support to hardworking Americans.”
