U.S. Representative Stephanie Bice, who represents Oklahoma’s 5th district and has served in Congress since 2021, used her social media platform on November 4, 2025, to comment on the ongoing government shutdown and legislative actions in the House of Representatives.

In a post made at 14:18 UTC, Bice stated, “Today is November 4th

@HouseAppropsGOP has passed all 12 appropriations bills out of committee.

@HouseGOP has fully funded the government with a clean, simple CR.

What are the Democrats doing? Playing games and supporting a government shutdown.”

Later that day, at 16:38 UTC, she wrote, “The government has now been shutdown for 35 days, tied for the longest ever in U.S. history. Democrats need to stop playing political games and vote to reopen the government.”

At 19:37 UTC on the same day, Bice added another statement: “Senate Democrats have voted 14 times in a row to keep the government shutdown.

They continue to vote against a clean CR that would fund SNAP benefits and pay essential workers.

They own the consequences of this shutdown.”

Stephanie Bice began serving as U.S. Representative for Oklahoma’s 5th District after replacing Kendra Horn in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Oklahoma Senate from 2014 to 2020. Born in Oklahoma City in 1973 and currently residing there, Bice graduated from Oklahoma State University–Stillwater with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
