U.S. Representative Stephanie Bice, who represents Oklahoma’s 5th district in Congress, used her social media platform on October 3 and 4, 2025, to comment on the ongoing government funding situation and to criticize Democratic lawmakers.

On October 3, Bice posted: “Today is October 3rd

@HouseAppropsGOP has passed all 12 appropriations bills out of committee.

@HouseGOP has fully funded the government with a clean, simple CR.

What are the Democrats doing? Playing games and supporting a government shutdown.” She followed up later that day with another post stating: “They said it and now they have shut the government down because of it.

This is America last. https://t.co/AOAGwt9ZDv

On October 4, Bice reiterated her earlier message: “Today is October 4th

@HouseAppropsGOP has passed all 12 appropriations bills out of committee.

@HouseGOP has fully funded the government with a clean, simple CR.

What are the Democrats doing? Playing games and supporting a government shutdown.”

Stephanie Bice began serving as U.S. Representative for Oklahoma’s 5th District in 2021 after defeating Kendra Horn. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2014 to 2020.
