Rep. Stephanie Bice, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Oklahoma’s 5th district since 2021, has posted a series of statements on her official social media account addressing recent government funding actions and the ongoing debate over a potential shutdown.

On October 18, 2025, Bice stated: “Today is October 18th

@HouseAppropsGOP has passed all 12 appropriations bills out of committee.

@HouseGOP has fully funded the government with a clean, simple CR.

What are the Democrats doing? Playing games and supporting a government shutdown.”

The following day, she reiterated her position with similar language: “Today is October 19th

@HouseAppropsGOP has passed all 12 appropriations bills out of committee.

@HouseGOP has fully funded the government with a clean, simple CR.

What are the Democrats doing? Playing games and supporting a government shutdown.” (October 19, 2025).

Addressing constituents in Minnesota on October 20, Bice wrote: “18,000 Minnesotans are facing unemployment because YOUR two Democrat US Senators keep voting NO to open government back up. Your comments should be directed at them.

Rep. Stauber and I voted to keep government open.”

Stephanie Bice was born in Oklahoma City in 1973 and continues to reside there. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Before being elected to Congress in 2021—succeeding Kendra Horn—she served as an Oklahoma state senator from 2014 to 2020.

These recent posts reflect her criticism of Democratic lawmakers during current federal budget negotiations while emphasizing her support for keeping the government operational.
