U.S. Representative Stephanie Bice, who serves Oklahoma’s 5th district, used her social media platform this week to address recent political and international developments. In a series of posts, Bice commented on the anniversary of the October 7th attacks, the potential impacts of a government shutdown, and the ongoing appropriations process in Congress.
On October 7, 2025, Bice marked the anniversary of the 2023 attacks, stating, “Today marks two years since the horrific October 7th attacks, which resulted in the deaths of around 1200 men, women, and children. We honor their memory and pray for all of the families who lost loved ones. Hamas must release all the remaining hostages and accept the peace”.
Later that day, Bice outlined her concerns about a government shutdown’s effects on various groups, posting on October 7, “Here’s what Democrats’ government shutdown means for Americans:
Troops unpaid
Women and children in need without assistance
Workers furloughed
Families left in limbo
Border Patrol unpaid”.
On October 8, Bice highlighted legislative progress by House Republicans and criticized Democrats’ actions, writing, “Today is October 8th
@HouseAppropsGOP has passed all 12 appropriations bills out of committee.
@HouseGOP has fully funded the government with a clean, simple CR.
What are the Democrats doing? Playing games and supporting a government shutdown.”
Stephanie Bice has represented Oklahoma’s 5th District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Kendra Horn. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2014 to 2020. Bice was born in Oklahoma City in 1973, graduated from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and continues to reside in Oklahoma City.
