U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin, representing Oklahoma and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, voted in favor of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on December 17, 2025. The legislation includes significant funding for Oklahoma’s military installations, totaling $670.3 million.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to represent Oklahoma and the many world-class military installations we have in our state. While serving on the Senate Armed Services Committee, I’m grateful to be able to fight for our bases and the future of Oklahoma’s defense capabilities. Oklahoma is vital to maintaining our military’s readiness and lethality,” said Senator Mullin. “The NDAA is a monumental step towards reforming the Pentagon and ensuring our servicemembers have the technology and weapons they need to face tomorrow’s challenges head-on. I’m proud the Senate pushed it across the finish line.”
Among the allocations, Tinker Air Force Base will receive authorization for $497 million for property acquisition and base construction, with an additional $30 million extending previously authorized projects from fiscal year 2023. The legislation also authorizes $79 million for hangar construction, a childhood development center, and a squadron operations center at Tinker.
The McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is set to receive $55 million for its ammunition demolition shop.
