U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) has responded to the arrest of a suspect in the killing of political activist Charlie Kirk. The arrest followed efforts by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
“I’m grateful for the local, state, and federal law enforcement partnerships that led to the successful and timely arrest of Charlie Kirk’s suspected killer,” said Senator Mullin. “As my friend, FBI Director Kash Patel said, ‘this is what happens when we let good cops be cops.’ I pray that all who loved Charlie find peace in his memory, and that justice will be served.”
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during an outdoor speaking event at Utah Valley University on September 10th, 2025. He was known as the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA. Senator Mullin expressed sorrow over Kirk’s death in statements to both Oklahoma press and national media outlets.
The senator described Kirk as “a true friend, a faithful Christian, a devoted husband and father, and a titan for the young conservative movement.”
