Senator James Lankford recently shared a series of updates on legislative developments and initiatives via social media. His posts provide insights into recent achievements and future legislative priorities.

On July 9, 2025, Senator Lankford highlighted the successful passage of what he referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” He noted that following this achievement, attention would shift towards nominations and upcoming legislative efforts such as the National Defense Authorization Act. He remarked on the productivity of the first six months under GOP leadership, describing it as a significant win for their agenda. “We had a big win with the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill last week. Now we’re turning to nominations and starting to look ahead to what’s next – like the National Defense Authorization Act. And here’s a fun fact: it’s been a very productive first six months in the GOP-led”

Later that day, Senator Lankford discussed specific provisions within the One Big Beautiful Bill aimed at benefiting energy producers. According to his statement, these measures are designed to restore fair treatment for energy producers, thereby supporting jobs, investment, and reducing costs for families. The senator emphasized his commitment to enhancing American energy production through this legislation. “My provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill restores fair treatment for energy producers, which will support jobs, investment, and lower costs for families. We want to unleash American energy, and the OBBB helps do that.”

In another post on July 9th, Senator Lankford elaborated on his ALIGN Act included in the One Big Beautiful Bill. This act makes full expensing permanent by allowing businesses to deduct 100% of equipment costs in the year they are purchased. The senator believes this measure will stimulate more investment, expedite hiring processes, and bolster growth particularly for Oklahoma’s farmers and manufacturers.“My ALIGN Act, included in the One Big Beautiful Bill, makes full expensing permanent. This means businesses can deduct 100% of the cost of equipment the year it’s bought. That means more investment, faster hiring, and stronger growth for Oklahoma’s farmers, manufacturers”

The “One Big Beautiful Bill,” formally known as H.R.3000 – Economic Revitalization Act of 2025 (ERA), was passed by Congress on July 2nd after extensive negotiations between parties.
