Sen. James Lankford, who represents Oklahoma in the United States Senate and is recognized as the Senate’s top “Taxpayers Friend” by the National Taxpayers Union, shared a series of posts on social media highlighting community engagement and legislative achievements.
On April 6, 2026, Lankford posted about the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, specifically its provision eliminating taxes on overtime pay for workers. He wrote: “One of the best parts of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act was the no tax on overtime provision. Police officers work more overtime than anyone. Here is Walters, OK Chief of Police about how this is helping his officers serve their community better.”
The following day, April 7, 2026, Lankford congratulated a local financial institution in East Oklahoma City: “Happy 75th birthday, First Security Bank! For 75 years you have served the East Oklahoma City community, and I am excited to watch you serve for many more. Congratulations!”
Later that same day, he reported on a meeting with an energy company: “Met with the great people at Devon Energy today. We talked all things energy, leadership, and the Working Families Tax Cut Act. Thanks to Clay and everyone at Devon for having me today!”
Lankford serves on several Senate committees including Finance; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Intelligence. He advocates for lower taxes and economic freedom while maintaining offices in Washington D.C., Oklahoma City, and Tulsa (official website). In addition to his legislative work such as authoring an annual Federal Fumbles report proposing solutions to federal government challenges, he has directed Falls Creek Youth Camp—one of the largest youth camps in the country.
