Sen. James Lankford, U.S. Senator representing Oklahoma, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account highlighting civic engagement, community service, and responding to a tragic event.
On August 26, 2025, Lankford visited Mustang High School and shared his experience with students in an AP U.S. History class. In his post, he wrote: “Grateful to join one of Mustang High School’s AP U.S. History classes this morning. These students recognize that the liberty our nation was founded on nearly 250 years ago remains unique in the world—and it’s our responsibility to protect it.”
The following day, Lankford highlighted the dedication of a local firefighter from Newcastle, Oklahoma. On August 27, he stated: “James is a firefighter with the Newcastle Fire Department. He worked hard through his training, and now he gets to do a job he loves while serving his community. He’s a great example of what it means to be an Oklahoman: we work hard, we serve others, we get the job done.”
Later on August 27, Lankford addressed a shooting incident at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis by expressing condolences and gratitude for emergency personnel. He posted: “Cindy and I are lifting up in prayer the students, families, and staff impacted by the horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. We are deeply thankful for the swift action of first responders and stand alongside this community as more details unfold.”
Lankford’s recent messages reflect ongoing themes within his public service record: emphasizing civic responsibility among youth, recognizing community service professionals such as firefighters who have completed extensive training before entering their roles (training which typically involves rigorous coursework and hands-on experience), and responding to national tragedies with support for affected communities and first responders.
