Sen. James Lankford, who represents Oklahoma in the United States Senate and serves on several key committees, recently highlighted developments and community engagement in his state through a series of social media posts.
On April 3, 2026, Lankford announced the start of construction for a new facility in Lawton by Firehawk, an aerospace company. He stated, “The future of defense and aerospace is here in Lawton, America. Yesterday’s groundbreaking of Firehawk’s new facility is a big step forward for our defense industrial base and means more jobs and innovation for southwest Oklahoma in the years ahead.”
Later that day, Lankford shared details about a meeting with local law enforcement leadership. He wrote on April 3, 2026: “It was great to speak with the Chief of Police in Walters, OK about how he leads in his community. Walters is safer with you in charge. We’re Oklahomans, we work, we get the job done!”
On April 5, 2026, Lankford marked Easter with a brief message: “Happy Easter! He has risen!”
Lankford has been recognized as the Senate’s top “Taxpayers Friend” by the National Taxpayers Union and is known for advocating lower taxes and limited government while authoring an annual Federal Fumbles report offering solutions to federal challenges (official website). His work also includes efforts to protect life, liberty and families as well as maintaining offices across Washington D.C., Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
As director of Falls Creek Youth Camp—described as the nation’s largest youth camp—Lankford has longstanding ties to Oklahoma communities beyond his legislative duties.
