Sen. James Lankford, U.S. Senator representing Oklahoma, recently shared updates on social media regarding infrastructure developments in Tulsa and his views on international affairs.

On August 22, 2025, Lankford highlighted progress in local flood protection efforts by posting: “Last week, I was in Tulsa for the signing of the long-awaited levee rebuild project. My team and I have been working towards this for years, and this marks a major step forward. We’re committed to making sure Tulsa is protected from the kind of devastation we saw during the 2019 https://t.co/pDCfjqjadZ”. The referenced 2019 flooding caused significant damage to the Tulsa area when historic rainfall led to widespread evacuations and millions of dollars in property loss.

Two days later, on August 24, 2025, Lankford encouraged followers to watch an upcoming broadcast by stating: “Tune in https://t.co/JCxXbW78TO”.

That same day, he addressed ongoing international tensions involving Russia and Ukraine with a post reading: “Vladimir Putin, a war criminal and KGB thug, invaded Crimea under President Obama, did NOTHING in President Trump’s first term, and then started this war in Ukraine under President Biden. We need to give @POTUS all the tools he needs to broker peace that other presidents didn’t https://t.co/PNUNuxC0ZU”. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has persisted since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and escalated further with a full-scale invasion beginning in February 2022. The United States has played a significant role through sanctions against Russia and military aid to Ukraine as part of its foreign policy response.

Senator Lankford’s posts reflect ongoing legislative engagement both at home—through disaster mitigation projects—and abroad—by advocating for U.S. involvement in diplomatic efforts concerning Eastern Europe.
