Sen. James Lankford, who represents Oklahoma in the United States Senate and serves on several key committees, recently addressed a range of national issues through posts on his social media account.

On March 29, 2026, Lankford highlighted ongoing work by federal employees during a government shutdown and promoted his legislative proposal: “We have thousands of patriots still working at @DHSgov right now through the Democrat shutdown. My bill, the Prevent Government Shutdowns Act, would stop government shutdowns for good. We need to pass this bill so federal workers never have to go through this again.”

The following day, March 30, 2026, he commented on U.S.-Iran relations: “Iran has been attacking the United States consistently for the past 47 years. @POTUS is finally putting a stop to the threats on Americans.”

Later that same day, Lankford visited a veterans’ facility in Oklahoma City with Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins: “Great to be with @SecVetAffairs Doug Collins in OKC today at the VA Medical Center, seeing firsthand how Oklahoma is expanding access, improving care, and reaching more veterans across our state. Our heroes deserve the highest quality care after they come home, and I will”

Lankford has been recognized as the Senate’s top “Taxpayers Friend” by the National Taxpayers Union and advocates for lower taxes and limited government while serving on committees such as Finance and Homeland Security (official website). He also authors an annual Federal Fumbles report proposing solutions to challenges within federal agencies. Additionally, Lankford has directed Falls Creek Youth Camp—the largest youth camp in the nation—and maintains offices in Washington D.C., Oklahoma City, and Tulsa.
