Sen. James Lankford, who represents Oklahoma in the United States Senate, addressed several recent incidents and community meetings in a series of social media posts published on April 7 and 8, 2026.
On April 7, Lankford expressed concern for the Pauls Valley community following an incident involving students and first responders. He wrote, “Cindy and I are praying for the students, families, teachers, and first responders in Pauls Valley as this situation continues to unfold. We’re grateful for the quick response from law enforcement and for reports that no students were harmed. Please join us in lifting up the”.
The next day, Lankford highlighted his meeting with members of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa amid concerns about antisemitism. Later that same day, Lankford commented on a fatal crash on Interstate 35 that resulted in multiple deaths including an Oklahoma state trooper and a child. He posted, “Cindy and I are praying for everyone impacted by the tragic crash on I-35. We are heartbroken over the loss of Trooper Vernon Brake and the innocent lives taken, including a child. Lankford serves on several Senate committees including Finance; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Intelligence.
