Sen. James Lankford, a U.S. Senator representing Oklahoma, posted a series of messages on his social media account from December 13 to December 15, 2025. His tweets covered topics ranging from local sports events to responses to recent antisemitic violence and the celebration of Hanukkah.

On December 13, Lankford acknowledged a significant sporting event in Oklahoma, writing: “Big game at Paycom Center today! Happy Bedlam to all who celebrate. Excited to watch @OU_MBBall and @OSUMBB keep the tradition alive. May the best team win!” The “Bedlam” refers to the longstanding sports rivalry between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.

The following day, Lankford addressed an attack in Australia targeting Jewish individuals during Hanukkah. He wrote on December 14: “Cindy and I are heartbroken for the Jewish community in Australia and everyone on Bondi Beach during the horrific attack on the first night of Hanukkah. Antisemitism has no place in our world. No one should have to fear for their safety while celebrating their faith – or at any”.

On December 15, Lankford shared his participation in a local Hanukkah event, stating: “I had the pleasure of lighting the Menorah in Oklahoma City to kick off Hanukkah! As we celebrate the beginning of the Festival of Lights, we continue to call out and condemn antisemitism. Hanukkah Sameach! https://t.co/7ZBjpKQHU7”

The senator’s remarks come amid ongoing concerns about rising antisemitism worldwide and increased security risks for Jewish communities during religious observances.
