Oklahoma City ties Southwestern Christian 1-1 on Tuesday night at Brian Harvey Field. Their record now stands at 9-2-3, 4-1-1 with three games left on the season. They stand in third in the SAC standings after the tie.

The Stars and Eagles were scoreless through the first period with not much action as only four shots and a plethora of OCU corner kicks occurred. To begin the second period the shots immediately came with Sydney Hawkins, Millie Templeman, and Madi Caputo all getting shots off early on.

The Stars first goal would not come until the 70th minute with Saizlee Carlton heading in a perfect cross from Abby Russell for her fifth goal of the year. The assist was Abby’s second.

The Stars would go on to have nine shots in the second period and achieve a total of 13 shots with six coming on goal in the game. Caputo and Saizlee each gained three shots, Templeman had two, and Abby Russell added one. Southwestern Christian only had four shots and two come on goal but scored in the 72nd minute on a soft grounder that crept by Irene Gonzales for the score. Gonzales ended with one save on two attempts.

Your OCU Stars get back on the field on Saturday at 5 P.M. against Mid-America Christian University with hopes to move up in the standings.
