Oklahoma City University delivered a third-place score in the preliminaries of the NAIA competitive cheerleading championships Friday at the George Gervin GameAbove Arena. 

The Stars produced a score of 88.57. Oklahoma City performs in the finals at 3 p.m. CST (4 p.m. EST) Saturday. 

OCU picked up a score of 88 or better for the sixth time this season. Only Saint Ambrose (Iowa) with a 95.83 prelim score and Dickinson State (N.D.) with an 89.83 scored ahead of OCU in the prelims. Saint Ambrose takes the mat at 3:20 p.m. CST (4:20 p.m. EST) Saturday. The awards will be announced 4 p.m. CST (5 p.m. EST) Saturday. 

Preliminary scores will account for 25 percent of a team’s overall score, while finals scores will be 75 percent.
