Oklahoma City University teed off the new spring season with the Las Vegas Shootout as Dylan Teeter paced Stars.
 
The Stars, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, faced off against three other teams ranked in the NAIA top 25. Ottawa University, who currently has the top spot, is ranked third.
 
The Stars Teeter finished the first round scoring a 71 at four under. Teeter, a senior from Bixby, Okla., nailed two birdies and an eagle on the Par 72 course. Leandro Mihaich finished tied for 18th at even nailing two birdies. Alex Bloxham finished at one over. He hit five birdies with four coming in the back nine.
 
Tres Hill and Cameron Lopez concluded the Stars first round. Hill shot three over and Lopez shot six over.
