Oklahoma City University’s Keegan Luton collected Sooner Athletic Conference men’s wrestler of the week.

Luton, a sophomore from Mustang, Okla., and the Stars’ Avery Ashley raked in the SAC men’s and women’s wrestlers of the week for Nov. 7-13. OCU swept the conference wrestlers of the week for the first time since Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2021.

Luton came out on top in a showdown of all-Americans with Austin Loza of Texas Wesleyan on Wednesday at Abe Lemons Arena. Luton pinned Loza in 2:19 in the 149-pound match. Luton notched a four-point near fall before finishing the match. Luton entered the bout ranked fifth among NAIA 149-pounders, while Loza is rated 22nd. Luton posted a seventh-place finish to earn all-America acclaim last March, while Loza became a 2020 all-American. OCU won the dual 27-18.

Luton has a 3-0 mark with wins by fall and technical fall this season. Luton became conference wrestler of the week for the third time in his career.
