Oklahoma Christian University Ticket punched

Oklahoma Christian (9-4-5, 3-3-3 LSC) came into tonight’s matchup against Eastern New Mexico (5-8-2, 2-6-1 LSC) needing a win or a draw to make Lone Star Conference Championships, and they got just that.

It was senior night at Eagle Soccer Field, and the Eagles honor TJ Hale, Alexandre Rodrigues, Joonho Kim, and Alejandro Colom for their accomplishments at Oklahoma Christian.

And Rodrigues made an immediate impact on his senior night. In the 7th minute, a ball was played into the box on a free kick, and Rodrigues corralled it and found the back of the net for his second goal of the season.

The Eagles shut out the Greyhounds in the first half, but they tied up the match in the 52nd minute on a quick attack. But the defense settled in again and Daniel Hosier made three saves after that to seal the draw.

The draw, along with other results in the conference tonight, helped OC jump from 6th to 5th in the LSC standings, and punched their ticket to the postseason.

Oklahoma Christian will compete in the LSC Championships for the first time this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lubbock Christian. The game can be streamed through the LSC Network for $10, and live stats will be available as always.
