Oklahoma Christian University Men’s Cross Country Competes at the Cowboy Jamboree

Oklahoma Christian went to Stillwater today to compete in the Cowboy Jamboree featuring some of the nation’s best hosted by Oklahoma State.

OC competed in a field against 27 other teams featuring 21 D1 teams and finished 22nd overall, scoring 697 points and ahead of D1 Texas Southern.

Sophomore Owen Pearce was the top finished for the Eagles with a time of 25:04.7 in the 8k race. Junior Colten Brown was the second finisher for OC with a time of 26:05.7. Tegan Arega the sophomore transfer was the third finisher with a time of 26:22.6.

Dylan Burrows finished with a time of 27:54.2, and Griffin Chesire finished with a time of 29:28.3 to round out the top-five finishers for Oklahoma Christian.

“It was good to get our first 8K under our belts, and we know that we were more spread out than ideal from 1-5.” head coach Wade Miller said after the race. “Owen had a strong race today, and our group will work on being more connected before our next race in a few weeks.”

Oklahoma Christian’s next competition date is October 15th, with the location TBD.
