Oklahoma Christian wrapped up the series against St. Edward’s on a cold and windy day at Tom Heath Field.

The Eagles were held without a hit through the first two innings, thanks to some gritty defense that St. Edward’s showcased all week.

But in the third inning, the Eagles broke open the scoring on a Hilltoppers error that brought home Hannah Pate and Kylie Janzen. Pate and Janzen lead OC in runs this season with 12 and 11, respectively.

Kristen Whitehouse continued the momentum with an RBI double that brought home Aaliyah Brown and gave OC a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the 5th, Jill Dickson forced three pop-ups and kept the lead on a day where she added another nine strikeouts to her season total.

Brooklin Bain, who will play in a basketball game for the Lady Eagles in Fort Smith, Arkansas, tonight, kept the offense going with an RBI single in the bottom of the 4th.

OC took the 4-0 lead into the top of the 5th, but SEU got its offense going with a 2 RBI double from Renna Toomey, cutting the lead to 4-2.

The Eagles and Hilltoppers held each other scoreless until the top of the 7th when an RBI triple and another 2 RBI double gave the Hilltoppers a 5-4 lead.

Hannah Pate got on base in the bottom of the 7th on a walk, but pop flies sealed the game for the Hilltoppers. Oklahoma Christian’s big bats were held in check by the wind blowing into Tom Heath Field, as the wind held would be extra-base hits in the air, and St. Edward’s made some great defensive plays.
