Oklahoma Christian University Disc golf D1 takes 1st place, qualifies two teams for the national championships in April

This last weekend the Eagles disc golf team competed in San Marcos, TX in the South-Central Collegiate Championship.
 
The tournament was the Oklahoma Christian’s second regional qualifier, with four D1 bids and two D2 bids awarded to the top eight teams. The OC D1 team took 1st place with a score of 4-under and secured one of the bids to the national championships in April.
 
The Eagles D2 team took solo 8th place with a score of 4-over and secured a bid to nationals. There was a total of 20 teams competing at this event. For singles, Micah Tatro and John Liaz led the Eagles at +4 in a tie for 8th place out of 80 players, with Caleb Fennell and Landon Clark right in their tail at +5. These singles scores averaged out to give the Eagles a one-shot lead going into championship Sunday.
 
Oklahoma Christian’s season is now on a break, and the Eagles will return to competition on March 18th in Winfield, Kansas.
