U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin visited Sapulpa, Oklahoma, where he met with local business leaders and public officials to discuss community priorities. The meeting included figures such as Oklahoma House Representative Mark Lawson, Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce President Janet Birnie, Sapulpa Mayor Craig Henderson, Sapulpa City Manager Joan Riley, Bristow Mayor Kris Wyatt, and other Creek County government leaders.
During the session, topics ranged from rural health care to infrastructure investments and tourism initiatives like the planned return of the Route 66 Christmas Chute in 2026. The city’s efforts to secure federal grants for new building construction and key infrastructure projects were also discussed.
“Sapulpa is clearly thriving from tourism and significant local investments which are paying off in a big way,” said Senator Mullin. “It was great to visit with local leaders about their plans to scale up economic development, in addition to water infrastructure needs in the region. As I told the local leaders, I’ll always be an advocate for our community issues at the federal level, and I appreciate everyone who participated in our open conversation.”
Oklahoma State Representative Mark Lawson expressed appreciation for Mullin’s engagement with the community. “We are proud to be represented by Senator Mullin in Washington,” said Lawson. “His visits to Sapulpa and Creek County are something we truly value. Taking the time to discuss the issues with us is appreciated. He and Christie are welcome in House District 30 any time.”
