Today, U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) introduced a resolution urging federal and state courts to unseal all materials related to the criminal investigations or prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, with redactions only to protect victims.
Senator Mullin criticized Democrats for their lack of action on this issue over the past four years. He questioned, “where was all this outrage over the last four years when Director Wray was over the FBI and Attorney General Garland was over the DOJ?” He accused Democrats of engaging in political theater and expressed skepticism about their motivations, suggesting that their actions might be driven by animosity towards former President Trump.
The resolution aims to promote transparency by making credible information about the Epstein case public. Senator Mullin noted that “the Trump administration has already said they are committed to releasing all available files.” Last week, President Trump directed Attorney General Bondi to produce pertinent grand jury testimony in the Epstein case.
Senator Mullin’s resolution seeks to reinforce directives from the President and DOJ to unseal materials. He emphasized that this effort aligns with initiatives by House colleagues, aiming for justice for victims and transparency for Americans.
In response to objections from Senator Gallego, Senator Mullin highlighted perceived cover-ups during the Biden administration regarding various issues. He remarked on the silence from Democrats concerning these files during those years.
