Mark Ryan Jordan, 38, from Midwest City, has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for illegal possession of a firearm after a previous felony conviction. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

According to public records, on October 28, 2024, a deputy from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a road rage incident involving Jordan. A woman reported that Jordan followed her and her juvenile daughter while yelling, gesturing, and tailgating near Broadway and Waterloo. At a gas station, Jordan pointed a firearm at their vehicle.

Later that day, authorities received another report stating that Jordan had stolen a shotgun and intended to engage in a shootout with law enforcement. Public records also indicate that he shot the bedroom window of a home in Midwest City before driving to the residence of one of the homeowner’s family members. Officers from the Midwest City Police Department were present at this location and arrested him shortly after his arrival. A 12-gauge shotgun and several rounds of ammunition were found in his vehicle.

Jordan had prior felony convictions in Oklahoma County District Court for domestic abuse by strangulation and assault and battery under case numbers CF-2013-4060 and CF-2016-170.

On December 17, 2024, a federal Grand Jury charged Jordan with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He pleaded guilty on March 28, 2025.

At the sentencing hearing on July 22, 2025, U.S. District Judge Scott L. Palk imposed the sentence of ten years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. The court highlighted “the defendant’s escalating violence and the need to protect the public.”

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and Midwest City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacquelyn M. Hutzell prosecuted the case.

The prosecution is part of “Operation 922” and Operation “Shots Fired,” which are local implementations of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at reducing gun violence through enforcement of federal firearms laws. “Operation 922” focuses on prosecuting firearms violations related to domestic violence cases while “Shots Fired” targets incidents where guns are discharged during criminal activity such as drive-by shootings or disputes.
