Markwayne Mullin, U.S. Senator representing Oklahoma, posted a series of tweets on August 10 and 11, 2025, addressing religious inspiration, political commentary, and public safety.

On August 10, Mullin shared a Bible verse from the New International Version: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NIV.

The following day, Mullin commented on a New York City mayoral candidate’s remarks about former President Donald Trump. He wrote on August 11: “A socialist NYC mayoral candidate thinks he’ll be a “nightmare” for President Donald J. Trump. Hilarious.”

Shortly after, also on August 11, Mullin posted about safety in the nation’s capital: “Make Washington, DC Safe Again. “

Senator Mullin has been active in sharing both personal beliefs and political opinions through his social media channels. His comments come at a time when crime and public safety remain significant topics in Washington D.C., and as national attention focuses on upcoming local elections in major cities such as New York.
