Markwayne Mullin, U.S. Senator representing Oklahoma and a member of the Republican Party, used his social media platform in December 2025 to highlight deregulatory efforts under President Trump, criticize the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and discuss Senate confirmation proceedings for Trump administration nominees.
On December 10, 2025, Mullin wrote: “President Trump’s strong deregulatory efforts are saving YOU money– on average, $2,100 for an American family of four. One example: @POTUS stopped Joe Biden’s costly Green New Deal mandates that jacked up prices for cars and household appliances.”
Later that day, he posted criticism of the ACA: “Obamacare is a bust. Premiums rose 221%. Do Democrats introduce ACA reforms? Or try another approach? No. As usual: Dems want to throw good money after bad. Oh, and they want to gift $26 billion in taxpayer money to insurance companies. You can’t make this up. @nypost https://t.co/XBp39aFyQ1”
On December 11, 2025, Mullin addressed Senate confirmations: “We’ve been in the fight to confirm every Trump nominee ASAP since Day 1 w/ @SecRubio and @SecWar. Next week, we’ll confirm the third large batch ‘en bloc’ since @SenateGOP changed the rules: 97 more soon-to-be Trump officials. That’ll clear over 90% of the civilian backlog.”
Mullin has served as Oklahoma’s U.S. senator since January 3, 2023 after ten years in the U.S. House of Representatives (official biography). He is notable as only the second Cherokee Nation citizen to serve in the Senate (source) and maintains his primary residence on his family ranch in Westville (source). Mullin has also built a career as a business owner before entering politics (source), advocating for issues such as agriculture, energy policy and veterans affairs throughout Oklahoma (issues page). He serves on several key Senate committees including Armed Services and Appropriations (committee assignments).
